AIM
Three-Day Workshop on the ‘Study, Use, and Conservation of Historic Lime’ from 9th-11th March 2026 at the INTACH Conservation Institute, Lucknow. The workshop will be held in collaboration with the Material Heritage Division (MHD), INTACH. The workshop will provide participants with both theoretical understanding and practical exposure to the properties, preparation, and applications of lime in historic buildings. It will address the challenges associated with the use of lime in conservation practice and equip participants with hands-on skills in working with lime mortar.
Who can participate:
PWD engineers, architects, professionals from municipal corporations, faculty and students of architecture and civil engineering, and all those engaged with building conservation and public works.

- Identify the properties of lime as a sustainable building material
- Assess issues associated with lime in historic buildings
- Understand key approaches and techniques for the conservation of lime
- Gain practical training in working with lime mortar
Registration Fee (for Indian citizens): ₹3600 + 18% GST
- 10% concession for INTACH members

Three days of contact. Venue is INTACH Conservation Institute, Lucknow. Accommodation, meals, and travel expenses will not be provided. Lunch and tea will be arranged during the workshop and transportation will be provided for the field visit only.
