AimA broad aim of this 2 -day course is to discuss the use of intelligent and digital technology and communication systems to enhance the understanding, documentation, interpretation, preservation and experience of heritage buildings and sites.
ContentThe Charter on the Preservation of Digital Heritage of UNESCO defines digital heritage as: “Cultural, educational, scientific and administrative resources, as well as technical, legal, medical and other kinds of information created digitally, or converted into digital form from existing analogue resources.” Digital practices are day by day becoming an important part in the heritage sector. Through this course participants will explore various digital technologies that are used in documentation, interpretation and preservation of art, material and architectural heritage. Further they will gain understanding of integrating information and communication technology for heritage conservation and management. The participants will also have demonstration and hands- on practical sessions for a better understanding of the use of digital technology and analysis of conservation issues.
Learning OutcomesUpon completion of this course the participants should –
- develop an understanding about Digital Heritage,
- work with digital technology and equipment for various aspects of heritage conservation,
- gain an understanding on integrating information and communication technology for heritage conservation,
- start thinking critically about the future of Digital Technology in India its efficient for heritage conservation and management.
